My Favorites

These are the poems on this blog that I'm most proud of and why.  Click on the underlined gold title to see that poem.

The Internal War- This was the pilot poem that kicked off PFTM.  (PFTM is the "Hawkstar's-too-lazy-to-write-out-the-whole-title" acronym for Poetry From The Mind.  And of course I wasn't too lazy to write out this whole bracket sentence. I'm sure it will save me time later.)  But anyway, this was the first poem in PFTM.  I was overall proud of the turnout of the poem itself, but the whole group of poems it spawned as well.

Sacrifice- I liked writing about my religion in this one.  I was able to weave my own opinions, ideals, and morals into it as well, so it still had what was most important in it.  Oh, yeah, and it rhymed.  Rhyming is fun to write, and it just makes the poem flow better, I think.  But of course, free verse is a lot easier, so when I'm pressed for time, I tend to skip the rhyming.

Forever Will Be- I like how this one flowed.  It just ran right off my fingers, onto the keys, and onto your computer screen.  I know that sounds really cheesy, but I honestly can't describe it any way else.  By the time I'm writing this, I'm all poem'd out, so I'm at a loss for good words.

Transformation- It's kind of a long story... But this one has a more personal meaning to me.  It's about a story I've been working for years on, more specifically one of the characters in it, but I was really proud of it when I finished.  I loved connecting the story to my more public work up here on the world wide web.

The Rise of Life- It's religion.  It's beliefs.  It's a war, only more internal.  It's me.  Dang it, this poem is pro-life!  This is EVERYTHING I AM!!!!
